J. Allison Robichaud News


J. Allison Robichaud was one of ten talented Canadian artists asked by Ford Canada to create a distinctive painting inspired by one of the Ford vehicles. The countryside painting created by Robichaud is posted on the Ford site and was inspired by the Ford Taurus, a family car perfect for the country drive, or for the family vacation in the idyllic countryside Robichaud depicted. Pictured above is Allison painting other new work this spring on location. See his painting on the new Ford Canada Web site.

Perth Art on the Lawn Show & Sale this weekend



Perth’s 11th annual Perth “Art-on-the-Lawn” Show and Sale takes place this weekend on July 12th and 13th, 2008 at 3054 Rideau Ferry Rd.in Perth. The participating artists are all members of the Rideau Lakes Artists’ Association . 5% of all sales will be donated to the Perth Great War Memorial Hospital Foundation in appreciation of the Hospital’s continuing support of so many in the Perth area.

Gallery News: New Paintings by Michel Pleau



Tay River Gallery is very pleased to welcome new works by accomplished Quebec artist, Michel Pleau. Michel Pleau's landscape paintings are dynamic and memorable, capturing the pulse of the natural setting in all its splendour. Water features prominently in his paintings, splendid compositions with vibrant colour and rich texture that express a "joie de vivre" in spellbinding nature scenes. Inspired by the Group of Seven painters, especially Tom Thompson, Michel's inclination remains with painting the beauty of nature and wilderness scenes in a spontaneous style that easily enthralls the viewer with its magic.

Michel Pleau is the recipient of various awards and distinction, including the Canadian painting Grand Prize. Since 1974 Michel has participated in over twenty group and solo exhibitions in North America and Europe. He is a member of the Figurative Arts Institute since 1999 and lives in St-Mathieu-du-Parc, a region of lakes and forests.

Tay River Gallery est très heureux d'accueillir de nouveaux travaux réalisés par l'artiste québécois, Michel Pleau. Michel Pleau peintures de paysage sont dynamiques et mémorable, en prenant le pouls de la nature dans toute sa splendeur. L'eau figure en bonne place dans ses tableaux, de splendides compositions avec des couleurs vibrantes et la texture riche qui expriment une joie de vivre est là, dans la nature des scènes envoûtantes. Michel Pleau est récipiendaire de divers prix et distinctions, y compris la peinture canadienne Grand Prix. Depuis 1974, Michel a participé à plus de vingt expositions collectives et individuelles en Amérique du Nord et en Europe. Il est un membre de l'Institut des arts figuratifs depuis 1999 et vit à St-Mathieu-du-Parc, une région de lacs et de forêts.
